The Digital Nomad Visa for Spain is now available and can be applied for online directly from the UGE-CE (Unidad Grandes Empresas y Colectivos Estratégicos), and NON-EU Citizens wishing to move remotely to Spain can now start their applications online from within Spain if they want a three (3) year visa. This visa of three years will need to be renewed after three years if the applicant wishes to have residency in Spain, after that renewal the applicant can then apply for citizenship. To apply for the three year DNV visa the best he best solution is to apply from within Spain on a tourist visa. iApplications at your local Spanish consulate or embassy will only be possible once their systems are updated. HOWEVER, BLS Spain Visa Application Centre in Pretoria, South Africa has updated their system. If you are in South Africa it is therefore possible to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa via BLS Spain in Pretoria. Note that if you apply through BLS that the DNV (Digital Nomad Visa) is only valid for one year and will need to be renewed. Keep checking on a regular basis to see if your local Spanish Consulate or Embassy has updated their system for a TELEWORKER VISA.
In a nutshell, remote workers that work internationally and do not have European Passports, and wish to work from within Spain will be able to access this authorisation and visa. It is for those who carry out remote work or a professional activity for companies located OUTSIDE of Spain, through the exclusive use of computer, telematic and telecommunication means and systems.

It also gives you steps to follow for your application if you are doing it online as well as steps to register as an Autónomo and how to register for Social Security. The guide contains FAQ’s as well as ALL the APPLICATION FORMS. English application forms are included as well HOWEVER these are NOT to be filled in. They are merely as EXAMPLES for English speakers to see what fields need to be completed on the OFFICIAL SPANISH APPLICATION FORM. If you submit the English forms they will be considered as VOID. If you are taking your pets with you the guide gives guidelines and includes the application form for your Vet to complete.
I further wish to advise that my initial intention for this guide was to help my fellow South Africans, which is still the intention, however, the information contained in this guide is helpful for anyone outside of South Africa, as the guide contains all the requirements needed for the Digital Nomad Visa/Digital Nomad Residence Visa as well as all the application forms etc. My suggestion to anyone outside of South Africa is to just convert any Euro amounts to your currency. Where I have links for South African companies, please Google the links relevant to your home country and apply same for the Consulate/Embassy in your area. The guide can be found on my South Africa to Spain FB page by clicking the LEARN MORE button on the top right.
